Tropicana: The Godfather
Is The Godfather the best movie of all time? It’s hard to disagree. Even fifty years after its release, it packs a tremendously powerful punch. The Godfather doesn’t actually feature any scenes in the Tropicana, but it does feature scenes in the Tropigala, which is the exact same place! Today, the hotel doesn’t look quite the same as it did back then (probably a good thing), but it holds a similar aesthetic.
The Bellagio: Ocean’s Eleven
There are two great Ocean’s Eleven movies — the original Rat Pack one and the 2001 remake. The Bellagio, or rather, the Bellagio fountains, make a notable appearance in the latter. You don’t even need to visit the hotel to walk in the footsteps of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and the rest of the Ocean’s gang. Simply stand outside at any point during the evening, and you’ll see the awesome fountains doing their thing.
Caesars Palace: The Hangover
We won’t say anything about The Hangover sequels, which pretty everyone agrees were terrible, but the first is a classic. The movie made extensive use of Caesar’s Palace, so if you’re familiar with the movie, it’ll be like walking around the set. Just try not to get in as much trouble as the characters in the film, though. This is also the filming location for Iron Man — so if you can look as good as Robert Downey Jr. in a suit, this will be the place for you. There have been plenty more movies shot in Vegas, of course, but there’s no guarantee that shooting there will result in a Godfather-quality movie. You probably don’t need to visit the filming locations for What Happens In Vegas or Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Stick to the ones we’ve outlined above, and you’ll be on the right side of cinematic history!
