This film wouldn’t be possible without Hollywood’s sudden interest in black cinema, maybe we’re in for a blaxploitation resurgence, who knows, after all “Superfly” was recently remade but hit bust.
I’d be more interested in a remake of “Dolemite”? or “Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song”?
Directed by Tim Story (“Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” “Ride Along,” “Barbershop”),“Shaft” will be released on 14th June 2019 nationally and internationally through Netflix.
