The fact of the matter is this: Movie theaters in New York City and Los Angeles remain closed, and to make matters worse, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain are about to enter a world of hurt with their economies headed towards total shutdowns. I’m even hearing the upcoming Berlin Film Festival might be scrapped if cases continue to go up in Germany. Deadline is reporting on a hush-hush meeting between Warner Bros. head honchos in regards to the ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel — the question being asked isn’t whether the film will be delayed further, but, rather, what its new release date will purport to be. We are six weeks away from the film’s release and Warners doesn’t seem to be in the mood to repeat what they did this past summer with Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” being released in theaters and bombing at the box-office with a paltry $53.8M domestic intake. WW84’s release is rumored to be delayed to a late Spring 2021 date. That makes perfect sense to me. We won’t be going back to any sort of normalcy any time soon as a vaccine is, more or less, rumored to be ready for mass-distribution sometime in early-to-mid 2021 (that’s a bit of wishful thinking).
